Paul Stubbs
LCSW
Paul grew up in Minnesota and San Jose, California. He is a veteran of the Army, Navy and Marine Corps infantry, serving for 26 years. Paul first sought a therapist when he found himself having his own struggles in the aftermath of multiple combat deployments, and struggling with opiates that came with the many orthopedic surgeries from years of damage and overuse. Then he started getting calls from men he had served with that were also struggling. He didn't know what to say or how to help so he set off on a mission to learn; to help them find peace and bring as much of them home as possible. After he retired from the Marine Corps, Paul graduated in 2020 with a Masters in Social Work from Newman University and began working with clients battling addiction and trauma.
Paul approaches clients as individuals, not as a collection of symptoms or demographics. With undivided attention, humility and empathy he works to help his clients leave behind what no longer serves them and supports them to continue to grow and adapt toward the better self that awaits them. Paul is a grounded and practical thinker that makes the ideas in therapy relatable and applicable for each individual he works with.
